Samantha was examined by Dr. Grover, our dental director. Dr. Grover found severe decay on all 20 of her baby teeth. Unfortunately, since the condition was not treated early, it was too late to save most of Samantha's baby teeth and more than half of them were extracted.
But Dr. Grover did not stop there, she provided education to both Samantha and her family on how to brush teeth and the importance of keeping teeth clean. In addition - Dr. Grover also identified how damaging pop and juice can be to young developing teeth.
Several years have now past and we are happy to report that Samantha is doing great. The Center for Family Health has been actively working with her to ensure that her permanent teeth grow in healthy and strong.
As a student at Northeast Elementary, Samantha is now under the care of Dr. Trompeter and gets regular cleanings and check-ups at our Northeast Health Center. She hasn't had ANY cavities on her adult teeth. Dr. Trompeter is a big fan of Samantha and her family and was excited to share that she is in the Gifted and Talented program and is an all-around nice kid.
