The $10 million Capital Campaign

In the spring of 2010 the Center launched a year-long capital campaign for the construction of a new facility in downtown Jackson.

Campaign Goals

  • Construct centrally located community health center with easy access for the majority of our patients.
  • Increase capacity to serve more Jackson County residents. Demand for our services continues to increase. Previous sites were unable to meet the need for primary care.
  • Provide cost-effective non-emergent care for underinsured population.
  • Create better health outcomes for our patients by coordinating care in one accessible facility.
  • Decrease overhead costs by consolidating services under one roof, allowing more money to be spent caring for our patients.
  • Use local donations to leverage with State and Federal matching funds to maximize every local dollar recieved.
  • Invest in our Community. Bring much needed economic development to downtown Jackson and local businesses. Revitalize vacant land and bring nearly 180 employees downtown, who will shop locally and pay city taxes.
The Building

Consolidation

The Downtown Jackson building consolidated 5 offices located throughout the Jackson Area. Our school-based clinics remained located in area schools. These offices were all brought together in one centralized building.

  • Medical Office - 2200 Springport Road
  • Dental Office - 817 West High Street
  • Women's Health Center - Lower Level, 2200 Springport Road
  • Rose City Office - 300 West Washington Ave
  • Administrative Office - 2298 Springport Road

Central Location

The building is located at 505 N. Jackson Street in downtown Jackson. This 5 acre site along the Grand River is a former used car lot. This project helped to revitalize the city's valued riverfront. This location, in the heart of the city, is also in the center of our service area and provides convenient access for the majority of our patients.

Expanded Facility

The new building provided an expanded, cost-effective facility to better serve a growing patient population.

  • 54,000 square feet (replacing 37,400 sq ft in five sites)
  • Three floors
  • Pharmacy
  • On-site Diagnostic Center for Labs and x-rays
  • More than 60 medical exam rooms
  • 14 dental operatories
  • Classrooms for health education training
  • Information Center for health coverage programs
