  • The Teen Center at Parkside and The Jackson High Health Center both provide medical care for adolescents between the ages of 11 and 21 years old.

Why would a family choose to use a School-based Health Center?

  • Prevention- A SBHC treats minor illnesses early and prevents them from becoming major health issues.

  • Access to Care- Children have access to a doctor without parents losing wages to take their children to see a doctor.

  • Cost Effective- Children with access to a SBHC are more likely to recieve preventive screening and treatment and are less likely to use emergency rooms for basic health needs.

  • Serving the Uninsured- Many families in the Jackson area do not have health insurance or can not afford to pay high copays and deductibles.
