MDHSS partners with Center to improve access to quality care
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services was created in 2015 by a merger of two departments of state government that each had cooperative relationships with the Center for Family Health.
MDHHS shares the Center’s mission to open the door to health care for all as Michigan’s main agency for protecting public health and making sure low-income individuals and families have access to care.
As part of its wide-ranging statewide responsibilities, MDHHS works with the Center to assist underserved individuals with enrollment in MDHHS programs. We also work in partnership with MDHHS to promote and integrate public health and primary medical care. The agency provides support and technical assistance focused on efforts to improve patient care.
