Pediatrics

Newborns, babies, toddlers and children, through the age of 17, can receive medical care at the Center for Family Health’s Pediatrics Department at its downtown location, 505 N. Jackson St.

We encourage you to choose a provider your child will see for most of his/her visits. You can access biographies and photos of the Center’s pediatricians by clicking here.

Services:

  • Well Child Exams/PhysicalsPediatrics
  • Immunizations
  • Hearing and Vision Screening
  • Lead Testing
  • Sick Visits
  • ADHD Assessments
  • Chronic Disease Management

The Center also operates four school centers in Jackson County. Young patients who usually see a pediatrician at the downtown location also can use the school health centers or can use the school health centers as their primary medical-care office.

When you are unable to get an appointment with your child’s regular doctor, you can take your child to the Walk-In Clinic at the downtown facility.

Appointments:

Call the Center at (517) 748-5500 for more information or to make an appointment.

You also can make an appointment at the office; same-day appointments sometimes are available. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointments and bring your medication bottles to each appointment.

Prescription Refills:

Plan ahead: Allow three business days for a prescription refill from the Center's pharmacy. We do not refill prescriptions over the weekend. Call 517-748- 5400 to request a refill.

If you no longer have refills available on your prescription and you want a new prescription for the same medication, make a request on MyChart or call 517-748-5500.

Hospital Care:

If you are admitted to the hospital, a hospitalist from Henry Ford Allegiance Health will treat you. They are specialists in hospital care. These hospitalists will keep us updated on your progress, and your Center provider will have access to all your hospital records and reports. Please make an appointment with your Center physician when you are discharged from the hospital.

Our People Make the Difference

When the Center for Healthy Beginnings expanded into family medicine and became the Center for Family Health in 1994, I left my family doctor and became a patient. I figured if the Center took such good of care of me when I was pregnant, they would take good care of my family.  … We need to take care of this place because it takes care of people. It’s a treasure.
