School Health

School Health

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ALL Center for Family Health’s school health centers are CLOSED. Our Downtown Facility, including the Walk-In Clinic, at 505 N. Jackson St. remains OPEN for medical care. Our Dental Clinic at 500 N. Jackson St. is OPEN for emergency dental visits. Call 517-748-5500 for an appointment at those locations.

The School Health Center Program is a partnership between the Center for Family Health, Jackson Public Schools, and Northwest Community Schools. While the four health centers are located within the two districts, they make it easy for students and parents to access health care no matter what school district they attend. It's like having a doctor's office in your child's school. The center at Jackson High School is open year-round to anyone through the age of 21 years old, regardless of where – or if – he or she goes to school. The health center at the Middle School at Parkside, Northeast Elementary School and the Northwest Community Health Center also are open year-round, but they are open to any Jackson County adult or child.

school healthBy increasing access, school health centers are designed to improve the health status of elementary, middle and high school students. All services provided are designed to meet the special developmental, socio-emotional and access needs of adolescents and youth.

With teenagers, they are at a point in life where they have to learn to take responsibility for their own choices, but they still need some guidance. It's a nice age, where I think I have an opportunity to actually make an impact.
