Volunteering

Volunteers are an integral part of the Center for Family Health culture. Our volunteers are diverse in age and interest, yet share a generosity of spirit. We offer a variety of rewarding volunteer opportunities to support our patients and community. The minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old.

Here's what others say about volunteering:

"I love volunteering at the Center. It makes me feel great that I am able to help children and be a part of the work in keeping kids healthy." - Deborah Herbert

"Volunteering here at the Center helps me learn more about the health-care arena. I am looking forward to reading to children in the pediatrics and dental area." - Nora Ghali

Volunteering Opportunities

Events Assistants: The Center is looking for individuals who can assist in planning and organizing fundraising events, programs and facility tours.

Volunteer Readers: The Center hopes to find individuals who are able and willing to sit and read to individuals and small groups of children during their waiting times.

Voter and Advocacy Coordinators: The Center needs individuals who can assist patients in registering to vote; and collect signatures, write support letters and participate in other advocacy-oriented activities.

General Hosts:  Individuals who are willing to assist patients in completing forms also are needed.  These people also would answer questions and help patients learn more about the Center and its services.

General Volunteer opportunities are available, including activities such as stuffing envelopes for mailings, assisting with short-term projects or helping with other projects.

Next Steps:

  1. All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application and criminal background check. Download application here.  Contact Terry Langston at tlangston@cfhinc.org to set up a time to meet to discuss where you are interested in helping out.
  2. We request that all volunteers make a minimum six-month commitment to the Center for Family Health to assure continuity of care and service.

Note: The Center does not currently provide internships or other specially accredited programs for volunteers. If you are interested in helping in other ways, please contact the Human Resources Department to discuss.

Here’s another way to help the Center for Family Health:
